Born in 2002 in Madrid, Carmen Sánchez Labrador started playing piano at the age of four.  At age seven she was admitted to the Arturo Soria Conservatory, where she continued her music studies, and then in 2018 she was admitted to the Purcell School of Music in London.

Two years later she was admitted to the Amsterdam Conservatory, where she presently studies under the tutelage of David Kuyken.

Carmen won 1st prize in the EPTA Spain Piano Competition and in 2022 she was a semi-finalist in the Princess Christina Competition.  She recently performed solo with the orchestra of the Amsterdam Conservatory in the Philharmonie Haarlem.

The Goois Symphony Orchestra is for advanced amateurs and retired professional musicians who enjoy a challenge.  The GSO was founded around 40 years ago, as Musica Instrumentalis.  The first conductor was a famous violinist and former concert-master of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Jo Juda.  Over the years the orchestra has grown and is now a proper symphony orchestra performing regularly in Hilversum, as well as providing the accompaniment for choral projects in and beyond the region.  Around 2/3 of the orchestra members live in "the Gooi", and the rest are happy to travel a bit further for the chance to play with the GSO.
