Goois Symfonie Orkest

The Goois Symphony Orchestra is for advanced amateurs and retired professional musicians who enjoy a challenge.  The GSO was founded around 30 years ago, as Musica Instrumentalis.  The first conductor was a famous violinist and concert-master of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Jo Juda.  Over the years the orchestra has grown and is now a proper symphony orchestra performing regularly in Hilversum, as well as providing the accompaniment for choral projects in and beyond the region.  Around 2/3 of the orchestra members live in "the Gooi", and the rest are happy to travel a bit further for the chance to play with the GSO.
